A bit of Randomness from Christopher Lincoln tonight:

1. Vitamins Rule!

2. Bought another instant classic of CD yesterday. The Road We're On from Sonny Landreth. As it turns out, this is going to be an unprecedented time for me as far as slide guitar goes. First, I happened on the Roy Rogers CD, now Sonny, and on March 25 the brand-spankin' new George Thorogood & The Destroyers disc. Better enjoy it, an alignment of the stars like this has never happened before and probably won't again.

3. Lordy but my job is mind-numbing.

4. Listened to most of the State of the Union last night. Good grief. I like Bush, I do, but damn if I know why. Well, yes, I do. He has the world believing he's some kind of buffoon when he's really a very intelligent, mischievous fucker. But most of his stated ideas last night were disgustipating. Fuck faith-based initiatives, fuck money for junkies, fuck money for AIDS/HIV victims in Africa (or anywhere else for that matter).

However, give credit where credit is due. Instant tax cuts - bring'em on. He's on the right track there, but any tax is theft, pure and simple. Also, hydrogen-fueled cars? Hell yes. Where he goes wrong there is placing the onus on the government to back this and push it where it needs to go. Sorry, that's the job of the private sector.

Now here's all I have to say about the situation in Iraq:
Little Jim pulls out a bottle of his favorite liquor from the cabinet. It hasn't even been opened yet. An hour and a half later, the bottle is empty and Little Jimmy is toasted beyond belief. He decides to go for a drive. He gets in his car and tools around town for maybe three hours before pulling back in his driveway. Little Jimmy could very well have hurt someone during his drive, but he didn't. Was his behaviour reckless? For sure! A crime? No.
You cannot rightly punish someone for something that he hasn't done, but could do or might do. I've got several dirty knives down in the dishwasher. I could very well take one and kill my neighbors after I finish this post. Better arrest me. As a bonus point: you especially cannot punish someone for whom you are not responsible for punishing.

5. Loons!
